200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training | Discovering Tara
This training is an invitation to fully step into the depth of yoga — beyond the poses and into a lived, embodied practice.
Our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Discovering Tara is a comprehensive and immersive program designed to give you a complete, expansive foundation in yoga. Through long-form weekend immersions every other weekend and consistent weekly integration every Wednesday, you'll not only learn the teachings — you'll live them.
Running from June 13 through September 20, 2025, this full 200-hour certification program blends tradition, modern understanding, and real-world application. You'll move through yoga philosophy and history, the full spectrum of asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, and the practical skills of teaching — all woven together across 8 curriculum blocks, each anchored by a weekend intensive and deepened through the Wednesdays that follow.
A key part of this training is learning to teach in a supportive environment before stepping into public classes. Each Wednesday is intentionally designed to reinforce what was explored the preceding weekend — practice teaching, cueing workshops, peer feedback, and hands-on labs that build your confidence and presence week by week.
We go beyond surface-level learning. This training offers a full-spectrum guide to yoga, including:
✧ Functional anatomy woven into every single weekend session — skeletal, muscular, respiratory, cardiovascular, nervous, endocrine, and digestive systems, plus regional deep-dives into the shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, core, and fascia
✧ The Eight Limbs of Yoga and foundational philosophical texts — Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and the Bhagavad Gita ✧ History of yoga from Pre-Classical through the modern West ✧ The subtle body — chakras, nadis, koshas, prana, and the five vayus
✧ Ayurveda: the three doshas, agni, dinacharya, and yoga's relationship to whole-body health
✧ Surya Namaskara A & B, Chandra Namaskara, and all asana categories — standing, seated, forward folds, backbends, twists, and inversions ✧ Pranayama: Ujjayi, Nadi Shodhana, Kapalabhati, Bhramari, Sheetali, and more
✧ Bandhas, mudras, drishti, and Shat Karmas ✧ Meditation: Vipassana, Trataka, mantra, and Yoga Nidra
✧ Yin Yoga, Kundalini, Nidra, Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga — styles in depth
✧ Trauma-informed teaching, adaptive yoga, and modifications for diverse bodies
✧ Intelligent sequencing, peak pose design, and class arc building
✧ The art of holding space — verbal, visual, and hands-on cueing with full consent protocols
✧ Yoga as a business: branding, marketing, ethics, liability, and Yoga Alliance registration
