200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training | Discovering Tara
This training is an invitation to fully step into the depth of yoga beyond the poses and into a lived, embodied practice.
Our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Discovering Tara is a comprehensive and immersive program designed to give you a complete, expansive foundation in yoga. Through long-form weekend immersions and consistent weekly integration, you’ll not only learn the teachings, you’ll live them.
This is a full 200-hour certification program that blends tradition, modern understanding, and real-world application. You’ll study asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, and yogic philosophy while developing the skills needed to teach with clarity, confidence, and integrity.
A key part of this training is learning to teach in a supportive environment before stepping into public classes. You will first practice teaching within our training program, refining your voice, sequencing, and presence, before transitioning into teaching students. This intentional progression builds confidence and ensures you feel prepared, grounded, and authentic as a teacher.
We go beyond surface-level learning. This training offers a full-spectrum guide to yoga, including:
✧ Functional anatomy and how the body moves in practice – 30+ hours (including dedicated anatomy training with Laura Goellner)
✧ The Eight Limbs of Yoga and foundational philosophical texts
✧ Sanskrit basics and mantra study (guided by Nicolai Bachman)
✧ The subtle body system (chakras, nadis, koshas)
✧ Intelligent sequencing and class structuring
✧ Pranayama, meditation, and energetic awareness
✧ The art of holding space and teaching with intention

Weekend Immersions (Every Other Weekend):
✧ Saturdays: 8-hour training days
✧ Sundays: 6-hour training days (8 hours in July)
These extended sessions allow us to fully dive into practice, lecture, discussion, and experiential learning without rushing the process.
Weekly Integration Sessions:
✧ Wednesdays: 2-hour evening meet-ups (every week)
These sessions are dedicated to continued study, reflection, group discussion, and practice teaching. Helping you stay connected and supported throughout the training.
Practice Requirement:
✧ Mandatory 30-hour class punch card
✧ 20 Hours of homework provided
✧ 6 Hours of Teaching in Studio outside of training
Trainees are required to attend classes outside of training hours to deepen their personal practice and observe different teaching styles. Classes may be taken at Discovering Tara or at other studios, allowing you to broaden your perspective and experience yoga in diverse environments.
This is not just about becoming a yoga teacher, it’s about becoming a student of yoga in its entirety.
Through immersive weekends, weekly connection, journaling, and hands-on experience, you’ll be invited into deep self-inquiry and transformation. You’ll leave with not only the skills to teach, but a stronger connection to yourself and a clear understanding of how to share yoga in a meaningful, responsible way.
